✒️ National Syndicalism is a political and economic ideology that blends elements of nationalism with syndicalist principles, advocating for the organization of society around corporatist trade unions while promoting a strong national identity. Emerging in the early 20th century, particularly in countries like Spain, Italy, and France, national syndicalism sought to transcend traditional class conflict by aligning workers’ organizations with the goals of the nation-state. It emphasized collective labor organization, worker control of production, and anti-liberal, anti-capitalist, and anti-communist sentiments, often positioning itself as a “third position” ideology. While initially associated with radical left-wing syndicalist movements, national syndicalism increasingly aligned with authoritarian and fascist currents during the interwar period. In Spain, it became a core ideological component of the Falange movement under José Antonio Primo de Rivera, influencing the ideology of Francoist Spain. The fusion of revolutionary syndicalism with nationalist fervor allowed the ideology to serve as a bridge between traditionalist and modernist forces in early 20th-century European politics.
