✒️ The Gostelowe Standard is one of a series of 13 regimental flags commissioned by Pennsylvania official Jonathan Gostelowe during the American Revolutionary War. Created around 1778–1780, these flags were produced for Pennsylvania state troops and featured a variety of symbolic designs, often incorporating patriotic imagery like liberty caps, rattlesnakes, and mottos such as "Virtue, Liberty, and Independence." Though not standardized like modern military colors, the Gostelowe Standards reflect the unique character and evolving identity of the Continental forces during the fight for independence.
