✒️ The Philadelphia Pride Flag, introduced in 2017, is an adaptation of the traditional rainbow flag with additional stripes to represent marginalized communities within the LGBTQ+ spectrum. It includes the standard six rainbow stripes—red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple—along with two additional stripes: black and brown. These added colors represent the inclusion of Black and Brown LGBTQ+ individuals, addressing the historical and ongoing struggles faced by people of color within the LGBTQ+ community. The flag was first unveiled during the 2017 Philly Pride event and has since become a widely recognized symbol of diversity and inclusion within the broader LGBTQ+ movement.
