✒️ The Traditional Pride Flag, commonly known as the Rainbow Flag, was designed by artist Gilbert Baker in 1978 to represent the diversity of the LGBTQ+ community. The flag originally featured eight stripes, each with its own meaning: hot pink for sex, red for life, orange for healing, yellow for sunlight, green for nature, turquoise for magic, indigo for serenity, and violet for spirit. Due to production constraints, the flag was later simplified to six stripes, with red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple representing life, healing, sunlight, nature, harmony, and spirit, respectively. The Rainbow Flag has since become an iconic symbol of LGBTQ+ pride and visibility, widely recognized and celebrated around the world.
